Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I sign up?

A: Click the link in our bio on Instagram or click on the form under the volunteer portion of our website. It then shows a linktr.ee page with sections. Click the volunteer form. It then sends you to a google form with a couple of questions.

Q: What email do I use to sign up?

A: Any email address is fine. Preferably an email address you frequently check. Once you fill out the form, I will contact you through that email address. From there, we will set you up with the remind code.

Q:Can we do multiple events at the same time?

A:Absolutely! You can choose the events you wish to participate in and are not required to do them all.

Q: How does the hour system worK?

A: Each event has a certain maximum you can complete and how many cards are worth an hour. Other events, you may choose how many hours you want to do.

Q: Do I have to live in California to be part of the program

A: No you do not. We have virtual events for those who don’t live in the area.

Q: Are there specific guidelines we need to follow?

A: When you click the link in bio, there is a tab that says “Rules and Regulations.” You will be then referred to a google docs with all the rules.

Q: Is there an age limit?

A: We are currently accepting high school students and young adults. If anyone is interested and is younger, they may contact us.

Q: Where do you guys send the letters?

A: We have had an event for nurses at a senior facility. We have also worked with other organizations to send letters to medical staff, grocery store workers, and restaurant workers. In terms of Virtual Card events we have offered so far they are associated with Children’s Hospitals. We plan on having more events!

Q: Do you have a list of who we write to?

A: Most cards will be genetically written for a specific group due to privacy and confidentiality: if we do have names, we will inform you of the list.

Q: So can I mail my letters?

A: It depends on your location. If we have a physical card event you would have to take a photo of your letters and mail them out in order to earn your hours. However, mailing tends to have fees associated with stamps which is why mailing would be based on your location. We are based in California so if you live in or near California then mailing could be an option. However if you do live outside the United States there will be plenty of E-card events for you to do :)

Q: If we have somewhere I want to write to, can we suggest it?

A: Yes you can. We will check it out and see if we can provide hours.

Q: How do we show proof of hours?

A: Email or remind the proof pictures. In some events, email thread is proof of completion.

Q: Will we receive some type of verification with all our hours?

A: Yes, the director will write the letter with your name and hours as soon as the season ends or if you request some type of verification sooner.
